At home I love to do baking, cooking and making meals. I love to make food look fancy and creative before I eat it! Take this for example:

In this blog post I am going to show you how to make a spooky banana bread that will WOW your friends and family. Now let's get baking!*

You Will Need:

  • Loaf Tin

  • Mixing Bowl

  • Cooling Rack

  • Large Spoon

  • Fork/Whisk

  • Table Spoon

  • Small bowl x3

Ingredients:

  • 3 bananas

  • 225g of self-raising flour (8oz)

  • 100g of soft brown sugar (4oz)

  • Chocolate chips, nuts, dried fruit or hundreds and thousands (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons of honey

  • 100g of butter (4oz)

  • 2 eggs

For The Icing:

  • A bag of icing sugar

  • A glass of water

Method:

  1. Put the butter and the flour in a mixing bowl and rub in between your fingers to get a breadcrumb texture as shown in the video:

  1. Add the sugar and the treat of your choice to the mix. I this next video it has different tasty ideas on what to put in your cake. It is your cake so make it your way and put whatever you want in it!

  1. Now beat the 2 eggs. If you are not sure how to do this you can watch the video below. Then add the honey to help the cake stick. You don't need to add the honey if you don't want to because the bananas will stick the cake together as well!

  1. Now for the fun part, putting the banana in! Mash three peeled bananas in a bowl then add them to the mixture! Using squishy, old bananas works best and it uses them up!

  1. Now grease the loaf tin with butter and preheat the oven to 180.C/350.F/Gas mark 4.

  2. Scoop all the mixture into the loaf tin and bake for 1 hour.

  3. Now make the icing. Put some icing sugar in a bowl then overtime add little drops of water until you get a thick, creamy icing. You can add some food colouring if you would like.

  4. Once the cake is out of the oven and cooled paste on the icing and then add some spooky nocturnal animal decorations if you want (e.g rice paper bats).

  5. Once cool and iced tuck into this yummy dessert!

Once made it should look a bit like this:
