I love sloths a lot, they are one of my favourite animals! This blog post features some cool sloth facts and a sloth poem!

Why So Slow?

Sloths are prey animals meaning that they can get eaten by other, larger animals! They have to go slow to be able to blend in with their surroundings. They also eat leaves which are very low in calories. This diet means that they need to preserve their energy so going slow means that they can go weeks without much food.

Algae

Algae is a plant that grows on things like rocks and animals. Sloths don't mind because the algae's vivid green colour helps the sloth blend in with the forest canopy.

What Is Their Diet?

Sloths spend their day hanging about in branches and eating leaves from the rainforest canopy. They are herbivores so they only eat plants.

About The Poem

This poem was inspired by the sloth. About how the sloth might feel and about how the sloth moves and might think. I think the sloth can teach us all something and that is to take your time with things and know that nothing needs to be done all at once and most importantly to go slow.
